Pictures Help Us Tell St. Paul's Story

**NEW**

St. Paul's has a lot of good news to share with our community! People in the community - even many who have never attended St. Paul's - get to hear about all the good things happening at our church by means of our E-Pistle, Facebook page, and website. And photos are vitally important in communicating our good news.

Sandra Montes* says communications play an important role in the church, especially in how we share our good news to people in our local communities. She shared the experience of Araceli Ma, who lives in Washington State.

"Araceli Ma says that her life changed when she found the Episcopal Church. She had been searching for a church community when she came across a picture of a mom and her children dressed up as part of a Nativity scene. That photo spoke to her as the mother of two young girls, and she thought, “That is what I want for my girls! I want one of them to carry the cross and the other to wear angel wings at church. I want to raise them in a church that is like a family.” She visited the church because of that picture, felt very welcome and has never left. She now works in Latino Communications for the Diocese of Washington. Araceli says that we can help change people’s lives by sharing the spirit of service and love in our churches on social media."

So please help us share our good news by taking pictures of all the good things that happen on a regular basis in and around our church. Things like special days in worship; Christmas, Easter, Senior Day, Bishop's Visit, etc.; activities at our ministries, like Christian Formation, WINGS, Food Pantry, nursing home visits; and even your walks in the Labyrinth and beautification efforts in and around our church. Imagine all the good things that happen on Sundays and all during the week because of the people of St. Paul's! All these things tell a story about St. Paul's and our love and service to Jesus Christ and to our world.

We welcome your photos and they make all our communications better. People need to know that we care for them and that they are welcome at St. Paul's. Send photos to Mike Lewis, Communications Administrator, at parish@stpaulselma.org.

A Birthday Prayer

Watch over your beloved children, O Lord, as their days increase;

bless and guide them wherever they may be.

Strengthen them when they stand;

comfort them when discouraged or sorrowful;

raise them up if they fall;

and in their hearts may your peace which passes all understanding abide all the days of their lives;

through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

(Adapted from the Book of Common Prayer)

through Jesus Christ our Lord;

who lives and reigns with you,

in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
