Hi JoEllen!

It's SPRING! Easter is Sunday and can you think back to how you felt during this Holy Week as a student - the masses, the meaningful Stations of the Cross, a fun Easter egg hunt, Señora Zeller's Seder Meal to help understand Passover, and then no school for a week, hopefully vacationing somewhere warm. 🌷☀️ Upon returning to school, the countdown to the end of the school year began!

Take a minute now to scroll through your newsletter for interesting updates, why some of the alumni became teachers, the story behind alum Jasmine Petersen's artistic achievements and more.

We also want to alert you that we have a NEW EMAIL - alumni@theacademysja.org - please put this into your contacts so you don't miss an email from us.

May you have a blessed Easter celebration. Alleluia! ✝️

Honoring SJA Alums Who Educate

Teaching is one of the most honorable professions a person can choose. It can be both challenging and incredibly rewarding. While it can be a difficult job, it is also one of the most important and fulfilling careers that a person can pursue. We are recognizing SJA Alums who are/were teachers, and honoring them for their dedication to education. Through the alumni social media, over 60 names were collected. We applaud you all for educating the next generation.

NOTE: The next newsletter will honor those who are in the medical profession. Please share your name and what role you play in healthcare here.

The Academy at SJA Update

It was in 2019 that our beloved grade school might close but because of the passion and commitment of so many it has remained opened and is flourishing. It’s almost impossible to believe, but this year the school celebrates its 5th school year as an independent Catholic school. So many remarkable milestones and accomplishments of which you would be proud. Click here to find out what they are.

Fr Simon Peter & SJA Uganda

Fr. Simon Peter, a Ugandan native, attended Mundelein Seminary and since 2000, he returns to the USA each summer as a visiting priest at St. Joan of Arc. From the very beginning, a strong relationship was formed between SJA and this extraordinary priest who works to provide children in Uganda an opportunity to learn, grow and realize their dreams at  SJA Uganda.
