Business Feature: The Reading Room CLE

St. Clair Superior Welcomes a New Bookstore

The Reading Room CLE, established in 2018 by its Executive Director L.S. Quinn, is a nonprofit bookstore that runs programs, events, offers book giveaways and many more creative services.

The mission of the organization is direct: to promote literacy and literature, to help transform Cleveland’s future and prepare its students and workers for success. They have a goal to help Cleveland’s children and adults who struggle with educational deficits. They have a goal to help create tutoring, internship and scholarship programs that will teach literacy and job skills and direct students to success in life.

The Reading Room CLE accepts donations of used books for resale. They also collaborate with community partners to promote literacy and literature through public events. They recently held a successful Galentine's Day event at their new home in the Brownhoist Building, 4403 St. Clair Ave.

Their new home inside the historic Brownhoist Building will officially open in the spring and will include an anti-segregationist bookstore and co-working space. Make sure to stop by and welcome Quinn to the neighborhood when you stop by the Brownhoist!
