The Campus

The Griffith Lobby Patio at Erie Day School will soon be adorned with a custom metal art piece. The EDS Recognition Tree, crafted by local artist Adam Stempka of Stempka Designs. Symbolizing new beginnings and the spirit of growth, the birch leaves chosen for the inaugural addition to the Recognition Tree honor the invaluable contributions of donors, volunteers, and educators who have sown the seeds for positive change and growth within the EDS community. Each engraved birch leaf serves as a testament to the enduring impact of those who have paved the way for a flourishing future.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the Stempka Family and Advanced Welding Technologies for their leadership donation, a crucial contribution that played a pivotal role in bringing the Recognition Tree to life. Their strong support underscores the commitment to fostering a sense of community and investment in the educational excellence of Erie Day School.

The Teachers

EDS Visual Arts Instructor, Jennifer Peters, was elected to the Board of the Pennsylvania Art Education Association in March of 2023. Since that time, Ms. Peters has participated in Spring & Summer Board Meetings & Leadership Retreats at Kutztown University representing NWPA as Region 2. This opportunity has led her to connect with other experienced educators and foster collaborative relationships.

The annual PAEA Conference was hosted by Region 2 this past Fall. The event, titled "In Process", took place in October at the Bayfront Convention Center.

Ms. Peters will continue to represent and connect NWPA and Erie Day School to the Commonwealth through meet-ups at Erie Gallery Nights, visits to classroom spaces, and exhibits at local Universities.
