Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation Partners with the National Dental Association  

Delta Dental of Arizona is the presenting sponsor of the NDA - Health Now Phoenix event on July 15th. At the Percy L. Julian Elementary School in Phoenix, children in the summer camp will receive oral health education, dental screenings, and fluoride varnish treatments.

 We are also thrilled to sponsor 54 dental professionals to attend the upcoming convention, July 14 - 17. Dental professionals are able to earn continuing education credits and we look forward to finding more ways to give oral health professionals the resources they need to continue their education and to give back to the community.

POP QUIZ TIME

Question: Brushing your teeth twice a day is enough to maintain good oral hygiene? True or False. 

Answer: False. While brushing your teeth at least twice a day is essential to good oral hygiene, brushing alone only removes up to 70% of bad bacteria and can't protect your teeth from the buildup of plaque. Brushing your tongue, flossing and using antibacterial mouthwashes are essential parts of optimal oral health care.

Senior Human Resources Generalist, Delta Dental of Arizona  

Meet Carol Gonzalez, our senior human resources generalist extraordinaire! To support children in need of dental services, Carol volunteered at a recent Team Smile outreach event with other DDAZ associates and the Phoenix Coyotes. 

"I love volunteering with Delta Dental because volunteering gives me an opportunity to make a difference and to make someone smile," says Carol.

Board Member Spotlight:

Julia Wacloff, Board Member

Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation 

Julia Wacloff, RDH, joined the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation board in 2022. She has over 20 years of experience in various public health settings providing needs assessment, policy development and quality assurance at local, state and national levels. 

Currently, Julia works with ADHS leadership and management on a variety of public health functions as related to oral health and we are delighted to have her oral health expertise on our Foundation board.
