Mental Health Awareness:
Asking for Help is a Sign of Strength
| |
|
May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
It's important to remember that even the strongest among us, the men and women we call heroes, all deal with some heavy stuff.
We're all human. We all feel things. We're here to help each other bear our collective burdens.
This PSA from our police and fire department is so important because it's a starting point for a continuous conversation we should all have, even when it makes us uncomfortable.
Share this PSA, reach out to a friend who might be struggling, or visit https://www.nami.org/ to learn more about mental health resources. You never know who you might be helping.

Stormwater runoff containing excessive amounts of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers is a significant threat to water quality. There are several things one can do to protect the water quality in our lakes and streams:
- Limit the use of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers.
- Do not apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers if heavy rain is predicted.
- Rather than broadcasting herbicides, spot-treat only those areas that contain weeds.
- Maintain a small lawn and keep the rest of your property or yard in a natural state with trees and other native vegetation that require little or no fertilizer.
- Make sure to properly dispose of any unused portions. Do not dump pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers down a storm drain.
