Last week, our Police Department put a stop to a crime spree that came through Peachtree City. Receiving a call from another employee on her lunch break, PCPD tracked down the trio and made the arrest, recovering over $7,000 in retail and sending the message that Peachtree City takes shoplifting seriously.
FOX 5 picked up this story, featuring an interview with our office and bodycam footage.

Celebrating the 55th Annual
Professional Municipal Clerks Week
| |
|
Last week, Peachtree City celebrated Municipal Clerks Week and our incredible duo of City Clerks, Yasmin Julio and Stacey Collins!
Initiated in 1969 by IIMC and endorsed by all of its members throughout the United States, Canada and 15 other countries, the week is a time of celebration and reflection on the importance of the Clerk’s office. In 1984, President Ronald Reagan signed a proclamation that officially declared Municipal Clerks Week the first full week of May. In 1994 and 1996, President Bill Clinton also signed proclamations confirming Municipal Clerks Week.
City Clerks take on various responsibilities, from upholding government transparency with open records requests to issuing licenses and permits. They play a crucial role in a well-functioning municipality, and they are here to serve you!

Stormwater runoff containing excessive amounts of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers is a significant threat to water quality. There are several things one can do to protect the water quality in our lakes and streams:
- Limit the use of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers.
- Do not apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers if heavy rain is predicted.
- Rather than broadcasting herbicides, spot-treat only those areas that contain weeds.
- Maintain a small lawn and keep the rest of your property or yard in a natural state with trees and other native vegetation that require little or no fertilizer.
- Make sure to properly dispose of any unused portions. Do not dump pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers down a storm drain.
