At that time Samuel was not familiar with the LORD, because the LORD had not revealed anything to him as yet. The LORD called Samuel again, for the third time. Getting up and going to Eli, he said, “Here I am. You called me.” Then Eli understood that the LORD was calling the youth. So he said to Samuel, “Go to sleep, and if you are called, reply, ‘Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening.’” When Samuel went to sleep in his place, the LORD came and revealed his presence, calling out as before, “Samuel, Samuel!” Samuel answered, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”

~1 Samuel 3

From Our Pastor

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

January is "Respect Life Month."

As we continue to strengthen our love for the Real Presence of Christ during this time of Eucharistic Revival, there will be a Prayer Vigil for all life from conception to natural death on January 18th, 7:00pm at Peace of Christ parish at St. James Church, 130 Brett Rd., Rochester, NY 14609

Join The Most Reverend Bishop Salvatore R. Matano

and our diocesan family in adoration of Jesus Christ in the Most Holy Eucharist, praying for the sanctity of all human life in solidarity with the National Prayer Vigil for Life taking place at the same time at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC.

Additional opportunities for Eucharistic Adoration occur on Fridays after the noon Mass at Christ the King church with Exposition of the Holy Eucharist followed by confessions and Benediction.

May God bless you,

Fr. Gonyo

The next Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend is planned for February 23-25, 2024 at the Notre Dame Retreat House in Canandaigua, NY. Register online at https://wwme.org.

The Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME) weekend teaches communication techniques such as active listening, listening with the heart and empathy towards your spouse's feelings. It is based on the sacrament of Holy Matrimony and expresses the importance of love in union and encourages this love to be taken out into the world in various ministries. It helps serve God by strengthening couples and their families in the Church.

The Marriage Encounter gives busy couples much needed time together to focus on each other and deepen their communication. After the Experience, couples often return to their life and families refreshed with renewed commitment to each other.

Application fee is $100.
