WEEKLY WORD from the WARDENS

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the Rectory Renovation fund. As of this writing, we are nearly 75% of the way toward our goal of $110,000 to install HVAC and make the vital interior/exterior painting and bathroom repairs that have been put off for so many years. We are aiming for 100% participation, of course, so that the Rectory is fully ready when Rev. Matt, Anna, Jonah and Ruth move in on June 17th. If you haven’t done so yet, please consider making your contribution here and designating “Rectory Renovation” in the memo line.

Rev. Matt’s first Sunday with us will be May 19th and we can’t wait. This will be a very special service dedicated to welcoming him and honoring the faith, hope, and fellowship that will guide Trinity into the future. We hope you can be there and stay for the Parish Picnic afterwards. (We’re still looking for a few more hands to help with grilling and cleanup so please consider volunteering here.)

On a personal note, we’re officially signing off now as the Weekly Word from the Wardens will be replaced (happily!) by a message from our new Priest-in-Charge each week. We began this column almost exactly one year ago, following Peggy’s departure, to help keep the Congregation informed, and we are delighted that, effective next week, Rev. Matt will use this space to share his own weekly reflections. It’s our pleasure to pass the baton.

Trinity has traveled far over the past year, though we know the best is yet to come. If you have questions, or if we can help with anything, please reach out at wardens@trinitysouthport.org.

Finally, a very Happy Mother's Day to all the moms at Trinity!

God is good. All the time.

Trinity is a founding sponsor of Laundry Love Bridgeport (a collaborative interfaith project). Laundry Love pays the cost of washing/drying clothes for individuals of no/little income every 3rd Tuesday. You facilitate the payment of the washing machines but do not wash the clothes.

Giving to Trinity

Join the 1725 Legacy Society

Did you know that there is a counsel in the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) to have a will? It’s true. Read page 445 in the BCP about “the duty…of all persons to make wills.”  As an important part of our Christian faith and stewardship, a valid will and estate plan is essential. Your gift is usually tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
