Heilicher 2018 Raffle
There are just a few more weeks to sell raffle tickets. For $10 a ticket, people have the chance to win prizes ranging in value from $450 - $1,200. Let's keep the momentum going!
Heilicher Live Auction
Each year we hold a live auction as part of our Annual Benefit. This year, the auction will include two premium tickets to see Hamilton on Broadway, a 3-course meal and cooking class for 8 at David Fhima's new restaurant, a week's stay in the Cayman Islands, a Minnesota Twins Batting Practice Buddy Experience for kids ages 5-14, and, as always, a reserved parking space at the Barry Family Campus. Bidding will take place during the evening program at the Benefit. If you can't make it, no problem. You can call the office to arrange for a proxy bidder.

Purim Celebrations at Heilicher
We are excited to be celebrating the Holiday of Purim in school on
Thursday, March 1. Purim is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the saving of the Jewish people from Haman in Persia circa 357 B.C.E. The story is recorded in The Biblical Scroll of Esther/Megillat Esther.
Continuing our community engagement work from MLK Jr. Day, from now until Purim,
we will be collecting socks and pet food to distribute to those in need as mattanot la-evyonim (gifts to the poor).
We encourage you to please send in non-perishable pet food and socks over the coming weeks. Boxes will be positioned outside the Heilicher office.
As a community day school, Heilicher's celebration of Purim will allow opportunities for everyone, both children and adults, to partake in all of these customs. Come for the sixth-grade Purim spiel at 2:30 p.m. Learn more

Get Ready for Spring Athletics and After-School Programs

Grade 6 Purim Spiel - Thursday, March 1
On Thursday, March 1, at 2:30 p.m. the sixth grade will present a Purim Spiel in the Manny Fingerhut Auditorium. Everyone is invited come and enjoy the fun as we take a lighthearted look at ourselves.

Grade 3 Curriculum Night
On Tuesday, February 27, 7-8 p.m., third graders and their parents are invited to join us for a taste of the third grade curriculum. You will participate in interactive activities and see projects that your children have completed. Curriculum night will be held in your child's classroom.

Parents - Heilicher Needs Your Box Tops!
Last year, the Heilicher PTO collected $400 for Heilicher from Box Tops for Education.
We are looking to
exceed that goal this year.
Box Top clips are worth $.10 each, and they really do add up.
PTO is collecting box tops all year, but to count towards this year's fundraising goals, please turn in Box Tops by
Friday, February 23.
Please send Box Top clips (those little squares) and Bonus Box Tops Certificates to school with your child. There is a collection box just outside the school office.
PLEASE place Box Tops into an envelope or zippered bag before placing in the collection box.

And Remember:
- It's very important that each Box Tops clip has a clearly visible product acronym (those letters in black) and expiration date.
- Expired Box Tops are not accepted - anything dated BEFORE 3/1/18 should be discarded.
- Please send loose clips in an envelope or zippered bag. Any bundling done beforehand in groups of 50 would be appreciated.
- Clipped Box Tops don't need to be trimmed perfectly - you can cut them neatly or tear them off the package.

Heilicher Athletics
Volleyball 5-6 started yesterday and their first game will be Wednesday, February 28 @ FAIR Crystal at 4:30 p.m..
Volleyball 7-8 will start Tuesday, March 6.
Volleyball parents: Please watch for a scheduling confirmation email which may include revised dates and times for games.
Basketball Playoffs
The playoffs are here. The Lions' first games are Monday, February 26. The full basketball schedule is on the Heilicher calendar. Come out and cheer on the Lions!
