Industry diversity groups The WICT Network, NAMIC, and the Walter Kaitz Foundation are joining forces once again to host Diversity Week 2023. This year’s programs will amplify and celebrate industry achievements in workplace diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging – all under this year’s umbrella theme, “We All Belong,” underscoring the importance of normalizing inclusiveness in our workforce culture.


Partners will host a series of in-person conferences and events aimed at strengthening efforts to recruit and retain diverse professionals across the cable, media and entertainment industry while better serving an increasingly diverse group of consumers. Here is the 2023 schedule:


  • September 18 – 19: The WICT Network will kick off Diversity Week with its annual Leadership Conference under the theme, Co-Create the Future
  • September 19 – 20: NAMIC will host its Annual National Conference themed, Our Legacy, A Mosaic of Possibilities
  • September 20: The Kaitz Foundation Annual Fundraising Dinner takes place under the theme, Staying Focused


All conferences and events take place September 18-20, 2023, at the New York Marriott Marquis in mid-town Manhattan, with some partners offering select virtual components. The WICT Network's Leadership Conference is open for early registration; visit our webpage to learn more.

Meet Our Signature Awards Luncheon Host, Alejandra Ortiz, News Anchor, Telemundo 52

The WICT Network announced that NBCUniversal's Alejandra Ortiz, News Anchor, Telemundo 52 Los Angeles, will host the 2023 Signature Awards Luncheon in Los Angeles. The luncheon will take place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Tuesday, May 2, marking the first time the event will be held on the West Coast in more than a decade.

 

A native of Colombia, Alejandra Ortiz is a talented and award-winning news anchor with an educational background in human rights, international humanitarian law and politics. Currently, Alejandra serves as the weekday news anchor for Telemundo’s West Coast Flagship television station, Telemundo 52 Los Angeles.

180 of the Industry’s Top Emerging Talent Chosen to Participate in

Immersive Leadership Development Program 


Washington, DC - The WICT Network announced the 180 designees of its 2023 Rising Leaders Program (RLP). RLP is comprised primarily of industry professionals at the manager and director level who have demonstrated strong leadership potential within their companies.


The top candidates were chosen based on a highly competitive application process and reviewed by more than 100 media professionals, themselves alumnae of the program.


The WICT Network’s Rising Leaders Program (RLP) is a premier professional development program for emerging women leaders in media, entertainment and technology. Participants learn how to build and develop high-performing teams; expand their organizational impact; build alliances; assess diverse leadership styles, and more. During the intensive immersion program, each rising leader will take part in leadership analysis and case study work while expanding their professional networks.
