STUDENT BLOGS
2021 @ 21: KARA ALLEN
'THE VILLAIN'
I wrote this piece in a state of reflection; with humility and hope. As I grow and nurture more relationships, serious or not, I find that I have a lot to improve on. A lot to improve on in myself, in how I view others, and the actions I make. This piece is a reminder that I will do better.

A PIECE OF MIND
STAY CONNECTED WITH YOUR MIND
This week I will be sharing a life lesson that I learned in 2020. As we all know, 2020 was an eventful year, to say the least. I feel like I learned a lot during this year, but there was one lesson I held close to me.

BECOMING A BETTER YOU
BATTLING INSECURITIES AND JUDGMENT
Most people struggle with judgment when they start their fitness lifestyle. I also battled these insecurities and fears. I found ways to help me overcome these and realized that my own opinion is the one that matters.

COFFEY TIME WITH CYDNEY
'HOW CAN I LOVE MORE?'
With Valentine's Day right around the corner, I wanted to take some time and talk about loving yourself more. Valentine's Day is a holiday where many individuals express love and affection between relatives and friends in addition to lovers. If we were to flip the script, what would it look like if we took time each and every day to express our love and affection for ourselves in a variety of ways? Let's talk about the importance of self-love.

CHANGING SOCIETY'S PERCEPTIONS
UNDERSTANDING DISABILITY ONE VLOG AT A TIME
Vlogging couple Shane Burcaw and Hannah Aylward became a YouTube sensation talking about their interabled relationship. Despite Shane's rare form of muscular dystrophy that requires the use of a wheelchair to assist his barely functioning muscles, the couple lifts stereotypes with laughter and love. Part of their success is the willingness to look well beyond the physical. Another factor is Shane's personality that actor Rainn Wilson called "hysterical, funny, smart, brave, amazing" in a short documentary he made about this "kick-ass young man." The relationship vloggers will be featured at a Feb. 10 virtual event hosted by Accessibility Services and the Department of Communication Studies.
