Greetings!
It is oft said that music has the power to heal. I will go further and say that music has the power to save lives. Case in point: I'm thinking of a guy who writes a music newsletter, and his home is currently occupied by his brother-in-law for a stay extended by the current stay-at-home situation. Currently, his home is mine (Let's face it -- you saw through my thin disguise). The pressure builds as we discover that unlike with his sister, we are not compatible to co-habitate.
With my head already near exploding, I step into the kitchen to see him scraping my non-stick pan with a metal barbecue spatula. The now-ruined frying pan seems an appropriate (albeit cliché) weapon, to my now blown mind. But do I commit violence? No. I retreat to the basement and carefully choose a Ray Charles tune to express my desire for him to leave and listen until humanity returns to me.
Stuck at home, music provides a quick and easy vacation. I write these words outside my house with Dixieland Jazz in the background and I am transported to New Orleans wondering why it's unseasonably cold there. I know I'm not saying anything enlightening about music, but I do owe music my gratitude for keeping me on the right side of the law. Crank out some tunes and stay safe everyone.
Happy Listening,
The Audio Classic
