ISSUE 7 – DECEMBER 2020
The Peaceful Season
Fort Lewis Lodge fireplace
Two of the things visitors love most about Bath County are the peaceful, relaxing atmosphere and the scenic beauty. During the winter months, the county is at its most peaceful. There is little traffic. The sounds of a breeze and the crackle of a fire may be the only sounds you’ll hear. And, if you think Bath County’s unspoiled mountains are beautiful during the other three seasons, just wait until you see it under a fresh blanket of snow.
Omni Homestead Shops
We want to let you in on a little insider secret – winter is a fantastic time to visit Bath County. It’s quieter than usual, but the shops, galleries, spas and amazing restaurants remain open. If the holiday season gets hectic, schedule a getaway to Bath County.
Cheers!
Cheers to Bath
There is much to toast about in Bath County, including the number of wonderful places to raise a glass. In downtown Hot Springs, Bacova Beer is a favorite gathering place for visitors and locals to enjoy good times and great craft beer. A few doors down is Rock Roadhouse on Main (scheduled to open in December), a tasting room for the county’s only local winery.

Local restaurants around the county serve delicious craft cocktails, as well as local, national or international wines. At Les Cochons d’Or, the sommelier will happily make a recommendation. At the Waterwheel Restaurant in Warm Springs, you can choose a bottle from their wine cellar. Some places serve locally-made cider from Troddenvale Cidery.

The Music Plays On
performance at Garth Newel
We may not be able to gather in person in the concert hall for the kind of intimate musical performances that guests have treasured for many years. However, the Garth Newel Piano Quartet is not allowing COVID to silence the music. In the spring, the musicians took to Zoom and YouTube for fun and inspiring performances.

Until live concerts can resume safely, lose yourself in a beautiful virtual performance.

Subscribe and leave a comment to let the musicians know how much you look forward to being back on the campus of Garth Newel Music Center.

Visit GarthNewel.org, where you can make a tax-deductible donation and learn about other ways to support their mission.
