The 11th Annual Symposium on Global Cancer Research will be held virtually on April 4-6, 2023. The theme this year is "Closing the Research-to-Implementation Gap." Scientific sessions and abstracts are being accepted now.

DF/HCC Co-PI, Dr. Vish Viswanath, was appointed as the Chair of the National Academies Understanding and Addressing Misinformation about Sciences committee.


The committee was convened to examine the evidence base, engage stakeholders, and develop conclusions, recommendations, and a research agenda to combat misinformation about sciences.

Welcome to the Partnership, Jo!

Join us in welcoming Joseph (Jo) Browne as the Research Education Core Manager. Mr. Browne comes to UMass Boston with over a decade of experience managing education programs at R1 Research Universities. His focus is on increasing access to STEM professions for students from historically underrepresented groups, and he has supported students on their journeys from high school through graduate school.


Most recently, he oversaw the partnership between the national nonprofit, SMASH, and Northeastern University which provided residential summer programming to high school Students interested in STEM careers. He has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Brown University. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Critical Ethnic and Community Studies at UMass Boston.
