Larry and Janis Rusher:
For all the fond memories
of our dear friend Bill
| |
|
Congratulations to Ryan Kohl who graduated from MLC on Saturday, May 13 with a degree in Staff Ministry.
While Ryan had originally planned to defer his assignment and focus on mission work with Friends Network in Thailand, the Lord had different plans.
During the week leading up to graduation, Ryan was asked to prayerfully consider changing his deferral, making himself available for an assignment. As you can see below, Ryan decided to make himself available for the assignment.
At the MLC Call Service Ryan received an assignment to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Green Bay, WI. Ryan will be serving as a Staff Minister as well as assisting Pastor Ehlert with World Missions.
Keep Ryan in your prayers as he begins serving and impacting lives in the mission field here and abroad for Christ!

PREGNANCY & LIFE RESOURCES CLOTHES CLOSET
|
The months of May and June celebrates Mothers and Fathers and their children. Our WELS churches have a special ministry toward that end in our Pregnancy & Life Resources office/clothes closet in Mundelein. The appreciation we get from our clients is so heartwarming and knowing how much we really help their families is what keeps us going.
We need your continued financial support to keep our doors open for their spiritual and material needs. Other needs are diapers, mainly sizes 4-6, and wipes. And we are in dire need of additional receptionists. It’s easy and fun, and even 2 or 3 hours a month will help.
Donation checks are made out to WELS Lutherans for Life and mailed to 359 Cambridge Dr., Grayslake, IL 60030. Call our office at 847-949-4443, leave a message with any comments/questions and we will get back to you. God Bless.

FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY BEGINS JUNE 7
|
This summer we will be offering Financial Peace University, which is a 9-week course that teaches people how to pay off debt, live on a budget, and invest for their future. Led by nationally syndicated radio host Dave Ramsey and his team, Financial Peace University offers a Biblical perspective on how to handle money. Millions of families nationwide have found success following this plan; some of our members took this course earlier this year, and paid off $32,000 in debt and saved $14,000!
Through our church’s site license, you can gain access to all the course materials at no charge. Just click here to create an account. To sign up for the class, click here. Sessions begin on Wednesday, June 7 @ 6:30 p.m., and run for 9 weeks.
This class is open to all of our members, as well as people in the community. If you know of someone who would be interested, feel free to invite them and share this information. Contact Joshua Kramer if you have questions or need help with the signup process. Hope to see you there!

PRAYER OF THE WEEK
Lord Jesus, the thought of your glorious ascension into heaven fills my heart with solace and comfort. Even though you returned to heaven as the God-man, you are still my human brother. And so you still empathize deeply with my every infirmity. At the Father's right hand you whisper to him my inmost needs, translating my sin-stained prayers and praises into words of beauty for our Father's ear. Having you, my beloved Brother, in heaven fills me with longing to join you in the Father's house. Now I have proof positive that your offering for my sins is acceptable to the Father. Glorious ascended Savior, thank you for my salvation. Amen.
