Momentous legislative session sets Minnesota economic development in motion

When the 2023 Minnesota legislative session ended, it offered the potential to be one of the most meaningful in memory. Faced with a state record surplus of $17.5 billion, the Minnesota House and Senate agreed on a two-year state budget totaling approximately $70 billion that will reach all parts of life in Minnesota. The economic and workforce development programs included in the budget put public and private entities on a course to make a momentous impact in every Minnesota community over the next two years.

Member-owner cooperative employee named 'Rising Star'

One Minnesota electric cooperative employee rose to the top of over 160 nominations to be included in the 2023 class of Rising Stars chosen by a panel of judges representing the NRECA. John Pantzke, business development rep and energy service supervisor for Stearns Electric Association, was selected for his contributions to the cooperative’s energy management programs and economic development efforts.
