Hello again!

OK, this is my 2016 reflection/2017 direction article. Last year, we talked about SMART goals, and I still think it's a good way to start out the year.  In case you forgot, here's a quick refresh:

Specific - who, what, where, when and why
Measurable - how much, how many
Attainable - develop attitudes and skills
Realistic - be willing and able to achieve the goal
Timely - set a date and believe in it

One of my SMART goals for 2016 was to learn to play the harmonica after I was gifted one by Kelly, a cyclist friend after my Tour Divide bike ride.

Did I become a harmonica player? Not really.  I did pick up the harmonica late in the year, and have picked up a few tunes, 'Amazing Grace' is one of those songs, as well as 'Oh Suzanna'!

One thing I am proud of is being part Living Water International. It's a ministry that drills water wells in third world countries. Sanitation & hygiene, education on disease prevention, justice issues & livelihoods are also taught through the organization. Last summer for my bike ride, I was able to raise $5,000 to drill a well in India! Way to go, friends! We, in America, are so fortunate to have clean water at our finger tips. So many parts of the world do not have fresh drinking water available to them. I've got another raise going to drill a well in 2017, I hope you'll check out the project. You can follow it at  www.bucketride.bike.

What's in store for 2017?  For me, I'd like to learn a couple more tunes on the harmonica. I'm fortunate to have a great team of employees at the store and have been able to turn over many of the day to day details to them. I am passionate about providing fresh water to those in need of such a precious resource, and I believe we are all given the desire and ability in life from our Creator to do something good. I think for some reason, I've been given this desire to help in this direction, we'll see where it goes.

The stores are in the middle of our physical inventory count this week, and this weekend is our Annual Storewide Sale. It's the best time of the year to buy your 5 Step ferti-lome Lawn Care Program. We can store the products for you, you may take all of them with you when you sign up, or we can deliver the products to your driveway.
