Chapman S Wins the Marshall & Sterling Classic Hunter Derby
| |
|
The opening week at the Ocala Spring Classic welcomed Chapman S, owned and ridden by Stacy Reser of Ocala, Florida to the winner’s circle in the $2,500 Marshall & Sterling Classic Hunter Derby, including Non-Pro Rider Bonus.
According to Reser, Chapman S was recently imported. "This was actually his first ever horse show in the USA and the first-time jumping hunter jumps outside of our farm. To say I am proud of him would be an understatement," she said.
Reser continued, "I had a feeling he was going to be good, but it was such a treat to win the Marshall & Sterling Classic Hunter Derby. He ended up finishing reserve champion in the Greens with top ribbons too. He's so incredibly honest and brave and gives you such a great feeling over the jumps. I am very excited to see his potential over the bigger fences. I see International Derbies in his future, and I hope to get a chance to campaign him further. But if he keeps going like this, he might become another lucky rider's Derby horse!" she added.
Second place was Phylis Harlow’s Emilio, ridden by Hannah Matts of Ocala, Florida.
Stacy Reser’s Kilmastulla Quality Touch, ridden by Seanna Reser of Ocala, Florida finished in third overall and also won the $250 Marshall & Sterling 3’3” Non-Pro Riders Bonus.
