PARKHILL MAIN STREET CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

New watermain has been installed on Parkhill Main Street from Parkhill Drive to Broadway/Ellen Street. The new watermain is currently being tested and commissioned between Emily/William Street and Broadway/Ellen Street.

While the testing and commissioning work continues on Parkhill Main Street, new watermain is now being installed on Elliot Street, between Elginfield Road and West Park Drive.

Currently Parkhill Main Street is open to traffic in both directions in all areas, however portions of the road are in temporary conditions and closed off to traffic. Please remember to slow down and exercise caution when navigating around the work areas.

Due to the construction, there is currently NO PARKING on Parkhill Main Street. This is required to allow two-way traffic on the west portion of the road.

Alternate parking is available on side streets, or in the municipal parking lot on Mill Street.

In coming weeks, construction will be progressing into the next phase of construction, on Parkhill Main Street between Broadway/Ellen Street and Elginfield Road. During this time, traffic will be detoured to West Park Drive and King Street.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATES WEBPAGE

The Municipality of North Middlesex is committed to keeping you informed during construction. Please reach out to the Municipality if you have any questions.

TURNING BULL POTTERY

4353 Queens Ave, Ailsa Craig (in Nairn)

(519) 709-0053

Meet Beth Turnbull Morrish, owner of Turning Bull Pottery. Beth offers group classes, one-on-one training, and kids' camps in the summertime. Her studio features 8 individual pottery wheels to accommodate group classes. Some of Beth's creations are on display and are for sale in her studio and at Parkhill’s Carnegie Gallery.

With a Fine Arts degree from NSCAD University in Halifax, NS, Beth also teaches Ceramics at Lambton College in Sarnia. Beth has also created incredible ceramic mosaics, large colourful displays, which can be seen on the sides of buildings in London's Old East Village.

Traditional classes at Turning Bull run 6-8 weeks. Beth also hosts single-visit pottery experiences for groups, much like a “paint night”. The single-visit sessions, called 'THE CLAY EXPERIENCE', are a great introduction to pottery and have proven to be a fun 'girls' night out' for a group of friends looking for a unique creative experience.

Beth is also the coordinator of the Empty Bowls project at Lambton College, a fundraising event at which guests enjoy a simple meal of soup and bread served in a handmade pottery bowl of their choice to take home as a reminder of all the Empty Bowls in the world. Bowls are created with donated clay and made by Beth alongside a team of volunteers and students. Local chefs and restaurants donate the soup. Since 2008 the event has raised over $100,000 to help fight hunger in Sarnia. Beth has expressed an interest in bringing the project to North Middlesex in the future to raise funds for those in need locally.

Follow Turning Bull Pottery for upcoming class information, and news on Summer Camps and other awesome pottery events.
