Message from Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS

Every people and every generation are faced with the same temptation. It is not easy to accept the truth that God “wills everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:4). God’s gifts are always meant to be shared. As opposed to the things of this world, God’s gifts are multiplied as they are shared. The Lord wishes to speak to you through the witness of others. Be open to learn from simple people. The Lord speaks to us through unexpected people, so that we believe that He is truly alive and present among us, in such a way that we can announce the Resurrection with courage.

Catechetical Sunday | September 17

751dc1f5-be18-486a-9032-6b78f51bc09b image

In his first letter to the Corinthians, St. Paul mentions various ministries that God has called Christians to: “…first, apostles; second, prophets; third, teachers…”. We are confirmed that the ministry of catechists is both ancient and integral, that from the beginning it has played an essential role in the life and growth of the Church. Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity to recognize those called to this service, pray for and with them, and commission them in this ministry. This year’s theme is, “Come to me all you who labor and are burdened.” (Mt. 11:28).
