MESSAGE FROM

Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS

In the Holy Mass of the recent World Youth Day, the pope insisted to the youth that their lives should shine in the world. The same is valid for you. Your closeness to the Lord will depend on your participation in his splendor, and your ability to be luminous in the world. Secondly, like Isaiah and the disciples, you must remain attentive to listen to the call of each day and each moment. That way you can be faithful to the mandate not to be afraid. The pope said: “The first word: to shine, so be radiant; then, listen in order not to take the wrong path; finally the third word: to be unafraid. Do not be afraid.” The Lord knows that you are looking for Him and also invites you to stay with Him. The following itself is the only condition, which implies conversion.

Baseball game outing and social for priests

The archdiocesan Office of Clergy sponsored a baseball game outing and social for priests at Wolff Stadium August 16 as the San Antonio Missions took on the Midland Rockhounds. The priests sang the “Salve Regina” on the field prior to the first pitch and enjoyed the game from a private patio on the second level of the ballpark with food and drinks.
