This is a fantastic opportunity for every parish to participate in the 2024 diocesan-wide initiative.

Intersectional Environmentalism:

Recognizing Disproportional Impact

by Britta Cordrey

“Intersectional environmentalism recognizes that various forms of oppression, discrimination, and marginalization intersect — and compound — causing some communities to be impacted disproportionately compared to others.

The best we can do is find a way to live our values. When I look closely at my own values, I find many points of intersection. I wonder if the same is true for you. Looking at our “lists” more holistically might allow us to live more authentically and feel more confident in and proud of our choices.”            — Britta Cordrey

to your parish

Earlier this week, the Disaster Preparedness Team mailed brochures to each parish, asking that they be distributed widely within the church membership.

The new brochure offers valuable guidance for congregations, individuals, and families, helping them access local, state, and federal resources for preparing for and responding to natural and man-made disasters.

It is crucial that we all "Stay Connected, Stay Prepared, and Stay Safe."

Al Ahli Arab Hospital

A ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem

Forced to close and evacuate

"... But where were they supposed to go? All hospitals in the area are either destroyed or massively over-stretched. We are desperately worried for the patients and our staff who are now in grave danger. We cry out for our hospital be be reopened to continue its sacred ministry of care for the sick, injured, and dying."

— The Very Rev. Canon Richard Sewell, dean at St. George's College Jerusalem

These pictures show the hospital chapel, St. Philip's, which has been repurposed as a hospital ward during the war on Gaza, and a conventional ward. Both show signs of severely injured and sick people hastily evacuated.

A walking worship at Brandywine Park. This service, co-hosted by St. David’s and Christ Church Christiana Hundred, draws us closer to the wild beauty of God’s creation, unlocking the wild beauty within us. The service will last approximately 90 minutes, and includes a mile walk and a flight of steps. The park is located at 1080 N. Park Drive in Wilmington. Plan to meet at the fountain across from the Brandywine Zoo and close to the parking lot near the Jasper Crane Rose Garden. RSVP here.
