One Church Campaign

New diocesan-wide marketing campaign

Bishop Brown announces new diocesan campaign:

I am excited to announce this year's diocesan-wide One Church Campaign. This campaign emphasizes a sense of unity, inclusivity, invitation, and service, while aiming to engage with younger families.

The essence of this One Church Campaign revolves around the theme of "together." Through inclusive imagery and the simple yet powerful word 'together,' we hope to instill a sense of belonging to anyone who reads our message. As with our previous campaign, all promotional efforts will direct individuals to explore our parishes via the diocesan website, www.delaware.church. The primary campaign objective is to ultimately direct individuals to our parish communities.

A campaign leadership packet has been sent to all church rectors, administrative assistants, and wardens. This packet provides more detail regarding the campaign and, most importantly, provides a section guiding churches on how to best prepare. A portion of the Parish Communications Conference on May 16 will also provide information and discussion on how to best prepare for the campaign. You can find more information and register for the conference here.

Below are the components of the campaign:

Frawley Stadium

Home of the Wilmington Blue Rocks

Beginning in mid-April a third-tier outfield sign at Frawley Stadium (home of the Wilmington Blue Rocks baseball team) will be placed for a two-year duration.

Billboard on Highway 9

Between Harbeson and Georgetown

A strategically located billboard on Highway 9, between Harbeson and Georgetown, will be placed from June through July. This billboard targets traffic traveling towards the Sports at the Beach facility and surrounding areas.

Cinema Marketing

Atlantic Theatres, Rehoboth

Beginning in May, cinema marketing will begin at Midway Theatres in Rehoboth for 13 months. This advertising opportunity ensures our message reaches a wide audience in a key geographical area. This is the only multi-theatre cinema between Rehoboth/Lewes and Ocean City, Maryland. Two images will run every 12 minutes before and after every movie, on every screen, every day.

WHO. Designed for people who:

  • have a pre-existing commitment to anti-racism work,
  • wish to engage in an in-person journey together, and
  • will continue acting on what we have experienced upon return.
  • Space is limited; we can accommodate 30 travelers.

WHY. To raise up change agents for racial healing, reconciliation, and justice work in their communities.

  • Listening to those who came before us is essential to our commitment to the path ahead. Montgomery and Selma, Alabama are heavy with history and rich in opportunities to understand more about the racism that continues to plague our society.
  • Visiting historical sites, memorials, museums, and landmarks while sharing honest conversations about personal and community experiences, generational trauma, and beliefs, we hope to further equip people for the work of becoming the Beloved Community envisioned by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Philadelphia Eleven Film Screening

May 1, 6:00 p.m., Christ Church Christiana Hundred

Discussion following with the Rev. Nancy Wittig (one of the Philadelphia Eleven)

Sponsored by Christ Church Christiana Hundred and St. Barnabas' Church

Christ Church Christiana Hundred and St. Barnabas’ Episcopal Church will co-sponsor a screening of The Philadelphia Eleven on Wednesday, May 1, at 6 PM in Christ Church’s Parish Hall. In an act of canonical disobedience, a group of women and their supporters organized their ordination to become Episcopal priests in 1974. The Church of the Advocate in Philadelphia welcomed them, but change was no small task. After the ordinations, the women experienced hostility as well as encouragement. This feature-length documentary tells the story of these women who succeeded in building a movement that transformed the Church. One of the Philadelphia Eleven, the Rev. Nancy Wittig, will be with us for discussion following the screening. Join us in celebrating the 50th anniversary of the ordination of women to the priesthood. Please RSVP below.
