Thousands Came Through

The Atlantic City

Convention Center Doors

and

Attended the

2023 EXPO

Registration was a breeze as the competent staff issued badges to the anxiously awaiting participants.

Signage indicating what Education Classes and Demonstrations, ranging from Food Safety, The Future of Bread, to Don't Yell At My Robot, were clearly posted.

Visitors were given the opportunity to meet with a wide variety of vendors there to assist in running a more successful business. These included products from label makers, telecommunication advice, point of sale machines, coffee, and packaging to name just a few.

Of course, especially with severe staffing shortages, we could not survive without specialized equipment to make out lives easier and more cost efficient.

!

Attendees gathered at our Demonstration Areas where they were instructed by some of the most respected experts in the industry.

One of these was conducted by Leslie Glass who brought the class step by step through the cake pop creation.

For the first time at our EXPO, we introduced the

Contestants were to create a cookie that themed a vintage Atlantic City Postcard. The Judges were impressed.

 And the Winners are:

1st place - Brandi Kimball

2nd place - Forest Chen

3rd place - Abigail Celesia

Not to be outdone by all of the excitement and activities that were taking place, the real excitement was at the New York State Baker's Booth where we were raffling off great prizes. The first two were a well stocked Baker's equipment and traveling case.

Congratulations to our winners and we know you will make good use

of them.

To see what the Grand Prize was, a look at the Cake Competition,

who won, and so much more, look for our next edition

Until then, the Board of the New York State Association of Manufacturing Retail Bakers send our greetings.

Bakers Amusement Corner

Jokes, Quotes, etc!

Little Johnny was in class, and the teacher announced that they were going to try something different to help everyone get to know each other a little better and to help with their spelling.

She explained, “I want you to stand up and give us the occupation of your father, spell it, and say one thing he would give us all if he were here today.”

The first student raised her hand to volunteer. “Marcy,” the teacher said. “You may go first.”

Marcy replied, “My father is a banker. B-A-N-K-E-R, and if he were here today, he would give us all a shiny new penny.”

The teacher said, “Very nice, Marcy. Who wants to go next?”

Kevin stood up and announced, “My father is a baker. B-A-K-E-R, and if he were here today, he would give us all a freshly-baked cookie.”

“Very good,” the teacher told Kevin. Jeff was next, and he said, “My father is an accountant. A-K, no wait, A-C-K, no…”

Before he could attempt to spell it once more, the teacher cut him off and told him to sit back down and think about it for a while. When he thought he knew how to spell it, he could stand back up and try again.

Little Johnny raised his hand in excitement, hoping to be acknowledged by the teacher. The teacher called on Little Johnny to go next.

Johnny said, “My father is a bookie. B-O-O-K-I-E, and if he were here today, he would give us all 20:1 odds that Jeff will not spell “accountant” correctly.”
