After receiving some concerns from the community, the NCAD Board has decided:
We do not endorse a technological product and Cochlear Implants are devices that allow some individuals to be able to access sounds. Not all people are able to obtain cochlear implants. We would support all options in accessing sound. We firmly believe that by placing an importance on cochlear implants, which is merely a device on equal footing to glasses or a wheelchair,
we are marginalizing all other technologies and the importance
of acquiring language which includes American Sign Language.
