February 2021 - Issue 15
We, the NCAD Board, have reached out to NC Black Deaf Advocates, expressing shock of the horrific events that took place at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. We acknowledge that race played a key role in security response and that the nation witnessed double standard of protest policing.

We recognize that our society has a system that is built against minorities. With what has been happening in our county, we do not support violence and hatred.

We do not tolerate racism - inappropriate behavior and inappropriate thinking. We ask each one of you to look inwards and think about how we can seek betterment in our community.

Someday you will work with a group of people who will look to you. We must unify - that is your and our duty.

We ask that you show respect and compassion.

The NCAD Board
The NCAD Board urges everyone to attend the upcoming AUDISM WEBINAR SERIES hosted by Gallaudet University via ZOOM. Audism is a negative attitude toward the Deaf Community. Audists can be either hearing or deaf/hard of hearing.
