|
Dear Rising Tide Students and Families,
This is the final week of the third term, and we ask families to join us in encouraging students to put forth their best effort to close out the term this week.
This week also begins the spring testing season for the statewide Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) testing. On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, students in grade 10 will participate in the MCAS English Language Arts (ELA) test sessions. Next week, students in grades 5-8 will participate in MCAS ELA test sessions.
These tests are an opportunity for students to do their best in demonstrating the skills they have been developing across the curriculum as well as in their English classes. Please make sure that your child(ren) bring their school-issued Chromebooks to school each day of testing. We also ask that students ensure that their Chromebooks are fully charged.
You may have seen the separate email today regarding the 5K Fun Run and Health Fair community even in May. We are looking forward to bringing our community together later this spring and encourage you and your family to register for this great event.
Have a wonderful week.
Sincerely,
| |
Michael O'Keefe
Head of School

Rising Tide staff and students worked to research and create a bulletin board celebrating the many accomplishments of women over the years for Women's History Month. Advocacy Week 2023: Lifting Our Voices Together
Tim Nicolette, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Charter Public School Association (MCPSA) recently sent out a note about Advocacy Week, which we have shared below:
Dear Friends,
Last week, charter public school supporters from all across Massachusetts came together to raise our voices in support of our students and our schools. Families, educators, and others shared incredible stories of impact, demonstrating that when given the opportunity, every child can achieve their dreams. Together, we asked our state representatives and state senators to support the passage of policies that will ensure all children have access to high-quality, equitable educational opportunities.
While this year’s Advocacy Week is over, the truth is that the work is not done, and we will never stop raising our voices on behalf of our students. Let’s continue what we’ve begun, and take it to the federal level! Right now, Congress is allocating funds for the upcoming year, and this is our chance to tell them why charter schools are so important to us. Take 30 seconds now to ask Congress to fund the Charter Schools Program and include flexibility for facility funding.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s Advocacy Week such a success. We truly could not do this without you, and we look forward to continuing to advocate, together, on behalf of our children!
Gratefully,
Tim Nicolette

Each month, two Rising Tide seniors are selected to speak at the Plymouth Rotary Club meeting. Because our January speakers were delayed to March, we had two sets of speakers this month. Anna Piccuito and Samhitha Vundi were today's rotary speakers. Last week, Eamon Godzik and Cam Perkins were selected to speak.
