Proof that none of us could adequately predict the future, it is one entire year later that we can now declare that we will celebrate a re-union of in person worship in the sanctuary on May 9, which also happens to be Mother’s Day.

As has also been announced, we will no longer be pre-videoing and editing a worship service together and then posting it to our YouTube page: College Hill Presbyterian Church Tulsa. When you log onto YouTube, please "Subscribe" to our page.

On another note, since we will have just returned to the sanctuary on May 9, the Worship & Music ministry team decided it would be best to not close down again in order have the traditional Memorial Day Weekend worship at my home. And for continued safety reasons, no picnic at the church either. Well, there's always 2022!

Coneys are back! Coney Islander will provide coney packs (two dogs wrapped together) for this month’s meal at the Day Center for the Homeless. Menu also will include slaw, pickled okra or dill pickles, oranges, homemade cookies and lemonade. Thanks to many generous donors, our Day Center dinner fund can provide all items except the homemade cookies. If you would like to bake and deliver 3 to 4 dozen cookies, text Caroline Johnson at 918-629-2882.

Thanks to the generosity of our College Hill members, the Outreach & Mission Ministry Team continues to support students, teachers, and families at our two neighborhood elementary schools: Kendall-Whittier and Sequoyah.

Already in 2021, O&M has sent gifts to KWE for classroom supplies and Teacher Appreciation Week, and to Sequoyah for hygiene and

cleaning products for students and families.

For members who want to be more personally involved, O&M invites you to consider the following two opportunities:

Did you know one out of every three bites of food you eat exists because of the efforts of pollinators: bees, butterflies, moths, wasps and birds?

Unfortunately, pollinator populations are in decline globally due to loss of habitat, pollution, misuse of chemicals, disease and climate change.

Fortunately, an Earth Care Congregation Pollinator Garden – featuring 40+ Black-eyed Susans – has sprouted up on the west side of the church parking lot!

The project started with painting the fence, thanks to Susan West, Mary Ann Bumgarner & granddaughter Annabelle King, Parker Brobston, Emily & Ruby Oldham, Chloe & John Gammie, Liam & John Michael Gammie, Rusty & Caroline Johnson and Mark Miller.

Next came the Master Gardeners’ plant sale and getting the plants into the ground with Mark, Rusty & Caroline and Nancy Meyer, a Master Gardener and Caroline’s college buddy, who also donated Osmocote plant food.

The plants ­– aka Goldsturm Rudbeckia – should provide a showy mass of tall, bright yellow flowers summer through early fall, and hopefully attracting every pollinator in the neighborhood!

Upon the recommendation of College Hill's

Re-Union Ministry Team, the Session voted unanimously on April 13, to return to in-person worship in the church sanctuary (with precautions and guidelines-see Phase 1 requirements below) on

Sunday, May 9, 2021 (Mother's Day)

The last service of worship in our sanctuary was March 14, 2020 - an unfathomable 14-month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

•Sign-in, hand sanitizer, face masks, social distancing (with overflow seating in Fellowship Hall, which will have sound/video projected onto the screen on the stage)

A 5-question survey was also sent out in mid-April, requesting the congregation’s feedback concerning our safe reopening of in-person worship at the church, including everyone’s willingness to return and when, and about vaccinations.

Sofia Ohlson, Jesper Ohlson, Kye May, and Susan West participated in the YWCA Stand Against Racism by helping to distribute 200 bags of fresh produce on Sunday, April 25^th.

CHANCEL CHOIR

The Chancel Choir of College Hill Presbyterian Church rehearses Wednesdays at 6:45 p.m. in the second story choral room (next to the church office) for singing, fellowship and fun! If you would like to sing with the Chancel Choir this fall, we are welcoming new members.
