Word from the Pastor
As it states in the title of the gospel song, "Soon and Very Soon", my return to College Hill from an 8-week sabbatical is coming very soon - June 6. I can't wait!

The photo (above) sums up my time away perfectly. When posted on my Facebook page, one comment labeled it my "Sabbatical rested face." Another, "You wear sabbatical well."

I don't think I will ever find the words to adequately express my gratitude for what has indeed been a blessed and transformative experience.

My first Sunday back will be June 11. I am looking forward to seeing you and sharing some of my adventures during the adult church school hour (including a photo tour of my sabbatical) and in my sermon.

I am also SO grateful for all who helped lead the congregation in a myriad of ways during my absence. That especially applies to Lisa Hays, our dedicated Office Manager!

Blessings, and see you soon and very soon,
Rev. Todd
A Celebration of 15 Years with Pastor Todd
November 5th

**Save the Date**

Rev. Todd recently (March 17) celebrated his
15th Anniversary as our pastor at College Hill!

It’s difficult to believe, yet so much has happened during his tenure. In order to recognize this (and the 30th anniversary of his ordination in October), a celebration on November 5th, is being planned, in Fellowship Hall after worship-with a prime rib dinner and special events.

So, please mark your calendar because you won’t want to miss the celebration!

Hymn Sing Worship Service
and Cookout
this Sunday, June 4
How the Hymn Sing will work:

College Hill notepads have been placed on each pew. When you arrive Sunday, take a sheet from one. Write your name at the top, then two or three hymn numbers. REMEMBER: No holiday hymns this Sunday!

We have a corps of pew captains (youth of the church) who will pass a basket/bucket down each pew for you to place your selections during the choir anthem.

When we move to the hymn sing, each pew captain will draw a lucky name with their hymn choices. We will sing the first choice, unless it has already been sung, in which case we will move to the second choice.
Caroline Johnson and Dana Livingston will be our floor generals, assisting the pew captains.

Be creative. If everyone chooses Amazing Grace and/or How Great Thou Art, it may be a short service! Ha! Dig deep!

Pew captains and generals, please meet me in the narthex at 10:30 a.m.

Plan to stay after our Hymn Sing
to enjoy the cookout!
Be sure to bring a lawn chair, side dish or dessert, and a friend!
Tulsa Pride Parade
Saturday, June 24

Come march with us in the 2023 Tulsa Pride Parade!  College Hill will have a truck in the parade and we need volunteers who can be riders, lots of walkers and a large, supportive crowd for those who cannot make the entire parade.

Our group will meet at 5:30 pm at the line up location at 13th and Boston (in the north parking lot), with the parade step-off time being 6:00 pm. The parade route continues north on Boston to 4th Street, then east on 4th Street to the Tulsa Pride Celebration at the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center!

College Hill's
Blessing Box

Beautifully handcrafted and painted by David & Susan West, this Blessing Box is now a permanent fixture in the chuirch's
west garden area.

Half of the funds that College Hill received from a $1,000 Grant from Matthew 25 Ministry PC(USA) was used for the box building materials.

Please bring non-perishable food items to place in the box to help those in need.
COMPASSION CAMP:
What Every Living Thing Needs
Vacation Church School
July 11-13 evenings
for ALL ages

Compassion Camp is a program where participants explore what it means to have compassion for themselves and others and the world.

As we look around the world, our deep need for compassion becomes more evident with each passing day, perhaps now more than ever. Compassion Camp aims to cultivate compassion for each other, ourselves, and the world. We will examine different places in our lives where we can cultivate compassion. Using each Compassion Camp component, we’ll explore themes of compassion as they relate to each session’s scripture.

Through Compassion Camp: What Every Living Thing Needs: Participants will explore what all living things need to live - shelter, food, water, air, and community - and how we can have compassion for the living earth especially in their local ecosystems.

Through awareness, gratitude, wonderment, reciprocity, and kinship, participants will consider how to become co-sustainers and participants in the work of God’s creation.

Using Psalm 104 as our grounding text, along with supporting scripture, participants will closely examine the interconnectedness of the whole earth - humans alongside the more than human world.

Through sessions including Gathering & Music, Bible Story, Create & Play, Movement, Recreation, Compassion in Action, and Sending & Music there will be something for everyone!

Volunteers are needed to help make Compassion Camp a resounding success. Please (click name to) email Betsy Guyer or call her at 402-202-3522 to find out more!
