Prayer 101: Daily Prayer Practices with Rev. Bowie

Sunday, October 31, 11:15am in the St. Mark's Room and on Zoom

Spending just 5-15 minutes a day with prayer and scripture can deepen your relationship with God and ground your life in faith. Praying in the morning, during the day, and/or at night is not just for monastics! There are abundant resources to try and it can be good to change your routine from time to time.

Rev. Bowie will share an assortment of prayer resources for morning, mealtimes, and bedtime that she has used over the past 15 years, including from the Book of Common Prayer, daily devotionals, Apps and social media options. She will also discuss the daily office, a 2-year cycle of bible readings, and a new Women’s Lectionary. Come with your questions, share what you have tried and valued, and flip through books to see if you find one you may want to try at home.

In addition to reading those names in the Necrology on November 7, we would like to include, in print, the names of others who have gone before whose lives have especially touched or influenced you.

If there are family or other loved ones you would like to have remembered, please send an email with their names to the Parish Office by Monday, November 1.

A Women's Lectionary for the Whole Year

You are invited to join St. Stephen’s and the Rev. Paula Toland for a weekly study of a new lectionary available to the Episcopal Church and approved by Bishop Hughes.
