Blessing of the Animals

Celebration of New Ministry for Rev. Bowie Snodgrass

You are invited to the installation of the Rev. Bowie Snodgrass as the twelfth rector of Christ Church in Short Hills. Appointed rector in March 2021, Rev. Snodgrass will be installed by Bishop Carlye J. Hughes on October 23. Limited in-person seating with masks and social distancing available. Acolyte Training & Photo

Are you an acolyte? Would you to become one? On Sunday, October 17, Rev. Snodgrass, Christiana Nwachuku, and Chris Whitaker will lead an acolyte training and refresher for both new and returning acolytes. The annual acolyte photo will take place at 9:45am.
AND, acolytes who arrive early and robe will have the opportunity to ring the bell before the 10am service. Don’t miss it!

Confirmation Orientation

Are you looking to make a deeper commitment in faith and to the Episcopal Church? The church is offering Confirmation (and related liturgies) for those in eighth grade and above. To be a part of the Confirmation program this year, join the Rev. Bowie Snodgrass and Chris Whitaker for an orientation on Sunday, October 17 at 11:15am in the St. Mark’s Room. Parents and other adults of the parish are invited to be confirmed, reaffirmed, or received into the Episcopal Church, as well. Let Us Pray: Fall Forums, Book Series & Noonday Prayers | |

This fall, we will be exploring the basics of personal prayer, the heart of our relationship with God, through a series of forums and reading Learning to Pray: A Guide for Everybody by James Martin, SJ. We are also starting noonday prayers each Thursday. You are welcome to join us for any or all of these opportunities to deepen your faith.

Take a brief break on Thursdays at noon to worship together on Zoom. We will use An Order of Service for Noonday from The Book of Common Prayer. All are welcome!

The Flower Ministry Needs Your Help!
Now that we are holding services in person again, we would like to extend the life of the beautiful flowers we enjoy on Sundays. Every week a few of us rearrange the altar flowers to distribute to members of our community or others who could use an impromptu delivery of a flower arrangement. If you can commit to 15-30 minutes after a Sunday service once every 4 to 6 weeks, we would love to have you join us! Contact Sandy Peinado for more information.

The office hours at Christ Church are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8am to 3pm. Additional office hours are available by appointment by contacting the Parish Office.
