As we look back on 2018, we are filled with reflection and gratefulness for the over 3,500 volunteer hours given by our dedicated volunteers, the collecting of over 2.2 million data points, the educating of more than 14,000 adults and 1,900 youth, and the countless wonderful events held ll to benefit our local treasure, the Indian River Lagoon. In 2019, we invite you to jump in... Jump into habitat restoration. Jump into citizen science. Jump into saving our Indian River Lagoon! Jump into the MRC family!

Celebrating 20 Years of North Atlantic Right Whale Monitoring!

Welcome to the 2019 right whale calving season! With only five births in 2017 and zero births in 2018, we're hoping for many calves this year! Please report any whale sightings to MRC at 888-97-WHALE (888-979-4253) so we can verify species, photo-document the whales for identification, and alert local vessels and ports where the whales are.   Upcoming volunteer training sessions and presentations include: January 5 at 1:30 pm at the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve Education Center in Ponte Vedra Beach. January 12 at 10:00 am including Canaveral Harbor tour with Space Coast River Tours. Tickets are required, please call Captain Mark at 321-652-1052 for details. January 12 at 1:00 pm at Sams House in Merritt Island. January 17 at 6:00 pm at Marine Discovery Center in New Smyrna Beach. Please contact Julie Albert with any questions. Navigating with Channel Markers
