Special February Break Edition
Schoolwide Testing February 26
In anticipation of returning to on-campus teaching and learning on Monday, March 1, we once again welcome the Onondaga County Health Department to campus on Friday, February 26, to administer COVID-19 tests to100% of our students and employees, including employees who have been vaccinated since it remains unclear whether vaccinated people can carry the virus to others. Distance-learning classes will be suspended on Friday to allow for this community-wide testing. The benefits of having a baseline understanding of the health of 100% of our community, before we return to campus, cannot be overstated. Therefore, we urge every student and employee to take advantage of this opportunity. Please monitor your inbox, as we will be sending specific registration instructions via email early next week. If you have any questions or concerns, please direct them to COVIDNurse@mphschool.org.
Important Message from the Middle and Upper School Office

Dear Families,
We hope that you had an enjoyable winter break with ample time to rest and rejuvenate. As we transition back to classes, we wanted to remind you that we will be in a distance-learning format next week with no classes on Friday, so the School can perform COVID-19 testing on students and employees. To ensure that every class meets twice, Thursday’s classes will take place on Wednesday, and Friday’s classes will take place on Thursday. Next week’s schedule can be found on the My MPH site, or by clicking on the following links.

If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We look forward to seeing the students soon!

Reminder: Reenrollment for 2021-2022

The Office of Admissions will begin the annual process of reenrollment next week. Reenrollment materials will be available online through Net Community beginning in late February. The deadline to reenroll will be in late March. Packets will be mailed home to provide additional information and instructions to help with submitting your child’s reenrollment for 2021-2022.
Trojans Earn Victory in First Game

Varsity Basketball players were eager for their first game against Fabius-Pompey Monday afternoon. And, thanks to the good work of Coach Jim Ryan and members of the Pandemic Response Team, a plan was in place and executed to make sure the game was played safely! As part of the Onondaga High School League, MPH and our opponents test all student-athletes, coaches, and officials for COVID-19 on a weekly basis and before every game. We are happy that none of our students or adults have tested positive, and we are proud of their adherence to our health protocols as they represent MPH in the wider community. Congrats on your 46-35 victory, team, and go Trojans!

Winter Festival Fun!

The cold weather didn't stop our Upper Schoolers from fully embracing the spirit of the Winter Festival last Friday. Outdoor relays, soccer, body sledding, and kickball were just a few of the students' favorite activities. Take a look at some photos and videos by clicking on the image on the left.

Time: 4:00 – 5 :00 p.m. EDT

Join MPH alumna from the Class of 1998 The Reverend Eboni Marshall Turman, Ph.D., as she discusses how to engage in a dialogue around issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and race with our children (and ourselves!) – and the importance of doing so now!

Spreading the Word about MPH!

Do you know someone who may be interested in exploring an MPH Education for their child? The Admissions Office will be holding February Admissions Information Sessions next week, and we have a hot-off-the-press February edition of our Discover MPH Admissions e-newsletter (which happens to include the registration link for those info sessions). Please find the e-newsletter here and feel free to forward it along to a friend or family member who may be interested. After all, the endorsement of our extended MPH community members makes for the best kind of encouragement for other folks to take a look!
