November 2020: Join a Task Group
By Jim Thompson
We currently have three task groups working in the Light Green Machine Institute.
- Our oldest, Non-cast iron dryer cans and Yankees. This group is working to identify other savings (such as overall machine length) that can be reduced when higher heat transfer dryer cans are employed. I am currently leading this effort.
- Auto Identification Tagging System. This is a revolutionary way of using throw-away RFID tags to control inventory in construction, maintenance and overall asset control. This effort is being lead by Dean Taylor.
- Mill dimension optimization problem. This is mathematically and scientifically resolving the age old width vs. speed problem. This effort is being led by John Stolarz.
If you are interested in becoming an active participant in any of these groups, please contact me at the email below and I will put you in touch with the group chairperson. Thanks.
