CAP OC’s Utility Assistance Program has seen increased applicants in recent years as COVID-19 support programs have come to an end and electricity rates have risen significantly throughout Orange County.
As we approach September, our program’s busiest month of the year, we are faced with limited funding and additional applicants. To address these concerns, our team has implemented a priority plan to identify our most vulnerable participants, while continuing to provide services to as many Orange County families as possible.
Additionally, through partnerships with Southern California Edison’s (SCE) and others, we are able to provide referral services to many Orange County families looking for assistance. Offering programs like Medical Baseline Allowance and Energy Saving Assistance, SCE’s support provides a lifeline for those we may be unable to serve.
As rates rise and families seek assistance, we are grateful for our referral partners and will continue to seek out additional opportunities to enhance our Utility Assistance services. Together, we can ensure no family is left struggling to pay their monthly bills.
