Smyrna Business Spotlight

Dirt Cheep Music Celebrating 40 Years

Dirt Cheep Music is a family-owned business that has been providing affordable and quality musical instruments and pro audio equipment since 1984. The store's founder, John Rathbone, had a vision to provide quality gear with honest business practices, which became the cornerstone of the store's success.

Aaron Rathbone, John's son, a seasoned veteran of the Nashville music industry, succeeded his father and brought his expertise and fresh energy to the family business. He has maintained the store's core values, including customer service, quality instruments, great prices, and strong relationships. Aaron has innovated inventory processing with newer technology.

Over the years, Dirt Cheep Music has become an integral part of the Smyrna community. The store’s walls reverberate with the sound of guitar strumming, violin strings singing, and the spirit of music thriving. Visitors are greeted with expertise and assistance in finding the perfect gear without high-pressure sales tactics.

The City of Smyrna is pleased to congratulate Dirt Cheep Music on its 40th anniversary! We wish them continued success. Visit Dirt Cheep Music at 2415 South Cobb Dr. SE, Smyrna, GA 30080 for the ultimate music shopping experience.

The Bunny Hive Offers Exquisite New Space for Mom and Baby

The Bunny Hive is a boutique social studio that offers classes for parents and babies. It opened in Smyrna in January 2024, and the grand opening was followed by the studio's first class.

The studio is located at 1260 W Spring Street, in the Smyrna Market Village, near many shops, green spaces, and amenities in downtown Smyrna.

The studio's owner, Ashley Murphey, recently moved from the Bay Area to Atlanta with her husband, Jared, and their two boys, Noah and Ezra. Ashley studied child psychology at Harvard University and later earned an MBA and a master's in education at Stanford. They are delighted to be part of the Smyrna community.

The Bunny Hive offers "grownup and me" classes for children aged 0-4 years, in music, sensory, ballet, art, infant massage, culinary exploration, and more. Additionally, they provide social events for parents. The Hive is a common social area designed space for moms and their little ones to enjoy before and after classes, making it a perfect morning out or playdate. It is both aesthetically pleasing and highly engaging, with the added benefit of a luxury playroom without the hassle of cleanup.

The City of Smyrna is thrilled to welcome The Bunny Hive to its thriving business community. Please stop by the studio and welcome them to the community. For more information and to sign up for a class, please email atlanta@thebunnyhive.com.
