A Few Notes

We look forward to seeing everyone at the Festival this weekend! There are still opportunities to help, so please check out the Sign Up Genius HERE to sign up. We have a place for everyone to participate.

God has decided that Orefield needs some rain this weekend, so we will be gathering with the bands under our big tent and playing lots of Bingo under the lawn tent. God's will be done! This Festival is rain or shine (keep praying for sun, for we are a people of HOPE), and we will have plenty of food even without those things that are made in the fryers (rain and hot grease don't mix, and we love our volunteers far too much to put them at risk). If you are volunteering in any of the fryer stands and they are not open, we can still use your help! We will stay up-to-date with the latest on the fryers on our website in the News and Updates box HERE.

We are in need of baked goods for our Bake Sale. Please bring your individually wrapped or whole cakes, pies, cookies, Rice Crispy treats, brownies, muffins, etc., to the main entrance of the Church after 3 PM on Friday or anytime during festival hours. Thank you!

There is a Festival event page on Facebook HERE. Please share it!

Thank you, to all those folks behind the scenes who have brought our 50th Festival to life. It's time to enjoy the fruits of your labors. Thank you for your commitment to our parish and for your willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty when necessary. God bless every one of you!

Volunteer HERE!

Just a reminder that the Young Adults will be working in the Funnel Cake stand this year. There are still some slots available, so if you are between the ages of 21-35 and would like to meet and make some great memories with us, sign up HERE today! Note: In the case of rain, this stand will be closed.

The Middle Agers will be meeting for the first time in the Courtyard between the Church and the Parish Center on Thursday, June 29th at 6:30 PM. If you are between the ages of 35-55, let's gather and plan for some great events and opportunities to build up our Catholic community!

It’s time to register your child for Family Faith Formation. This program replaces our PREP program and will provide community for our young families, as well as a solid faith foundation for families to build upon. Each family will attend nine Wednesday gatherings for a year from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, along with our online program, "My Catholic Faith Delivered."

Pray for Our Parish

Almighty Father, please turn your eyes toward our International Food Festival, and if it is your will, let the sun shine upon it as your Son lives in our hearts. Help us to be your light in the community, attracting all who are searching for You. May St. Michael protect our parishioners, our property, and all who visit us that weekend. St. Joseph, our patron and Father of the Church, please intercede on our behalf. Amen

Dear God,

I believe that you have the ability to convert everyone at St. Joseph the Worker Church and I beg you to perform miracles in our lives that we will come to love you and never want to offend you.

I beg you to let us see our sins and run to the confessional, that the lines will be out the door.

Set the hearts of our priests on fire so that they burn with the desire for the conversion of every soul in the parish.

I implore you to make St. Joseph's a beacon in our diocese, that souls will be drawn by the holiness they find here.

I ask that you blind Satan to every parishioner, that they might have the space to know and love you without temptation.

I offer myself to you completely at whatever the cost.

Amen
