A Note from the Mayor
August has just begun, and it's already brimming with celebrations, recognitions, and the excitement of a new school year. And there's still more to come with our annual Summer Salute!
This month alone, we've celebrated Emancipation Day, welcomed new officers to our Police Department, and honored several of them for their contributions to public safety. We've also celebrated the completion of the first home, on a once vacant/abandoned lot, with the support of our local Land Bank and the Lincoln Real Estate Development Group, and we've kicked off the process to design a new city logo.
Hopkinsville is buzzing with activity, and I encourage all our citizens to take advantage of everything our city has to offer. We have so much to be proud of, countless opportunities for growth, and amazing citizens like you who bring forth ideas that can help us build an even better Hopkinsville. Thank you for being a part of our community!

HES Tree Replacement Program
We offer to our customers a tree replacement program! This program applies only to trees that have grown into and interfere with the primary power lines between utility poles. If a customer allows us to cut down such a tree, we will then plant in its place a flowering ornamental tree. This tree will have a small enough mature height so it won’t interfere with the power lines.
