“Looking Behind, Gathering Wisdom”

The Rev. Julie Stoneberg

It’s good practice to pause occasionally and take stock of where we’ve been. That pause can renew our energy and inform our next steps. As we near the end of UUCW’s interim time, let’s look back at what we’ve learned, think about what to discard, and consider what to carry with us.

Our theme for June is the Gift of Renewal. Music Director Ruben Piirainen provides reflective music.

Memorial Service for

Darryl and Beverly Boyer

Saturday, June 15, 2 pm

Darryl Boyer passed away on March 16, 2024, at the age of 87. Beverly died in 2015, but because no memorial service was held then, the family has chosen to remember both of them at this service.

Darryl and Beverly came to UUCW with their 2 children, Lynn and Sarah, in 1970. They were both attorneys and were active in the church throughout the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s, and into the 2000’s as their health permitted. They are survived by their 2 children and 4 grandchildren. All are welcome to attend.

Love Unites, Stories Ignite:

General Assembly 2024

June 20-23

In a world filled with division and challenges, the theme for this year's General Assembly is a powerful reminder of the core principles that unite us as Unitarian Universalists. "Love Unites, Stories Ignite" celebrates the profound impact of love as a binding force that transcends boundaries and fosters connections within our faith community and beyond.

LED Lighting Upgrade -- Thank you to all who helped last Tuesday and Saturday teams of UUCW volunteers upgraded all the fluorescent lights in the Community Room and the Lower level rooms to LED tubes. This improvement will reduce our electricity consumption, carbon footprint, and annual maintenance costs. Unless we missed a light fixture somewhere, all the lighting in our building is now LED! Our volunteer workers have removed 178 fluorescent lights! Many thanks to the Endowment Committee for funding this project and the Earth Ministry Team for assisting with the proposal.

Special thanks to Jim Maletta, Mike Brown (both pictured above), Dennis Trinastic, Hank Kulesza, and Jerry Kashmerick for providing the labor for this practical and earth-friendly project.
