Agudath Israel Mourns the Loss of Six Hostages

Affordable Housing Meeting with Mayor Mike Johnston

In August, Agudah represented the Jewish community at a meeting hosted by Mayor Mike Johnston and District 3 Councilwoman Jamie Torres to discuss the issues and solutions around affordable housing in Denver.

The room was filled with District 3 locals who came to share with

Mayor Johnston and Councilmember Torres about their individual experiences with housing and to explore possible solutions. As housing is a need that greatly impacts the community's growth and long-term stability, Agudah ensured that a Jewish voice was present and engaged in this important meeting. This is part of an ongoing community meeting series initiated by the mayor's office across denver, with another meeting scheduled for this Tuesday, September 3rd in District 5.

Colorado SNAP Produce Bonus program

Coloradans who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits can now buy more healthy food thanks to an innovative new incentive project, known locally as the Colorado SNAP Produce Bonus program. It immediately issues a credit — equal to the amount spent on qualifying fruits and vegetables — to a participant’s EBT card.

SNAP participants will be reimbursed for spending up to $20 per transaction on eligible items, up to $60 per month. There is no daily or weekly limit on the number of transactions, shoppers purchasing eligible items can visit multiple vendors in the same day and/or make small purchases every day up to the $60 total monthly limit. The $60 bonus balance starts over on the first day of each month and will continue to be available monthly while funds are available. The bonus amount that SNAP participants receive through the Colorado SNAP Produce Bonus program can be used to purchase any SNAP eligible item at any SNAP retail location.
