New EC rules makes household appliances more sustainable
In a continued effort to reduce Europe's carbon footprint and to make energy bills cheaper for European consumers, on 01 Oct 2019 the Commission adopted new eco-design measures for products such as refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers and televisions. Improving the ecodesign of products contributes to implementing the ‘Energy efficiency first' principle of the EU's Energy Union priority.  Read more

CEF: €1.4bn to support Sustainable Transport projects
The Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) has launched a call for proposals under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for Transport funding instrument, which makes €1.4bn available for projects aiming to build, upgrade and improve European transport infrastructure. The call deadline is on 26 Feb 2020. A virtual Infoday on the call will take place on 7 Nov 2019. Read more

Europe’s largest floating solar plant opened in France
The most powerful floating solar PV plant in Europe was inaugurated in Rhône valley (southern France) on 18 Oct 2019, marking another milestone in the development of solar energy. The O’MEGA1 project is a 17 MegaWatt (MW) solar plant situated in Piolenc, a commune in the Vaucluse department, near Orange and Avignon. Read more
