Join us for the Jefferson Parish Senior Expo, presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana and hosted by the Jefferson Community Foundation. This highly anticipated annual event honors our senior community's vitality, wisdom, and achievements. Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Pontchartrain Center. Admission is FREE and open to the public.

The Jefferson Community Youth Leadership Program Is Accepting Applications for the Class of 2025


The mission of JCYL is to provide a lifelong commitment to leadership in Jefferson Parish. The program is open to high school junior and senior students in Jefferson Parish public, private, and parochial schools. The curriculum includes an opening session in September followed by six monthly day-long sessions on relevant topics in key areas. The program culminates in a graduation ceremony in April 2025. JCYL is FREE to both schools and students thanks to our generous sponsors.

2024 AARP Community Challenge Grants

Recently, AARP announced grants of $3.8 million nationwide through 343 quick-action projects. Our iPhone Basics for Boomers program was awarded a $5,000 grant through the YMCA! The photo includes the two instructors, Brenda Marinello and Claudette Lay, and some of the seniors who’ve participated in the program.
