Community Oasis at Ree Alario Special Needs Center & Miley Playground
Congrats to our Jefferson Parish team for being recipients of the Greater New Orleans Foundation’s Next 100 Years Challenge for the pilot project: “Mike Miley...More than a Playground...A Community Oasis"
The $100,000 Challenge funds will provide seed money to Mike Miley Playground for resilient cooling and charging stations for residents, particularly after a major storm or on days of extreme heat. It will also help fund smartly-designed green infrastructure under ball fields, parking lots, and low-lying areas to better handle stormwater.
JCF is the nonprofit partner on this project, Thank you to the Greater New Orleans Foundation for recognizing our team’s work and being a partner with us to inspire and attract plans for community-centered and cost-effective infrastructure improvements in Jefferson Parish.
