Neighboorhood Assistance Program

To qualify for credits, a donor must make an eligible donation to MMSC. A simple, one-page form is all that is required to accompany your check. Once MMSC receives a copy of your cleared check, we do the rest!

To make a contribution or for questions contact Gayla Roten, MMSC State Director at 417-334-3014 or glroten@momainstreet.org.

About the Program

The Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) was created by the state of Missouri to provide assistance to community-based organizations and help them implement community and neighborhood projects.

The philosophy behind the program is quite simple. Rather than funding a project by giving a grant, the State partially reimburses eligible donors who fund the project themselves.

In effect, this enables donors to redirect their tax dollars to local projects of their choosing.

Unlike a direct government grant, this form of state assistance involves no transfer of dollars. Instead, MMSC assumes full responsibility for securing the desired financial support through their own fundraising efforts, using the tax credits as an incentive. The State’s role is to oversee MMSC’s projects and process the tax credits for eligible donors.
