Vorgee’s Aqua Range
It’s officially fall. Snow is already falling in parts of Canada! While summer, as always, was too short, and we’re already saying our seasonal goodbyes to outdoor swimming, winter is an opportunity to take advantage of the great indoor facilities available across Canada. It’s time to buckle down and put in the hard work in the pool so that you can slingshot into next season with speed and confidence!

Vorgee has many great products that will help you maximize your training all through the winter. Winter training means pool swimming, which means chlorine. Yuck! If you’re squeezing your swims into the early hours of the morning before work, then you want to make sure you get rid of all that chlorine before making your commute to the office. Vorgee’s Aqua Range products are designed to do just that! Aqua Hair and Body are environmentally friendly, skin friendly, hair friendly products that cleanse residual chlorine from your body without the use of Parabens, SLS, or heavy scents. For your swimwear, Aqua Tog Wash helps you get the most mileage out of your bathing suit by rinsing out the chlorine that can cause your suit to stretch and fade faster.

It might be getting cold, but now is the time to bring the heat! Vorgee gives our warmest encouragements to MSC Triathletes during this winter season!

Leveraging Your End of Season Fitness the Safe Way
Athletes who have been training for an entire year towards a goal race can have trouble stepping it back after the event is over, and the first week of recovery is done. The temptation to leverage your fitness is pretty high, and the recommended two or three weeks off from training can be difficult to deal with.

Here’s why it’s important to listen to your coach and actually take that time off:

* Your body needs it
o Repetitive motion puts a lot of strain on your body. We all know the importance of rest and recovery!

* Your brain needs it
o Training is not only physically draining, but it can be mentally draining as well. Take some time for yourself and focus on other aspects of your health that you may have been putting off. You may feel even more motivated to get back to your training after having a few weeks off.

* Your family and home life probably needs it
o No matter what distance your training for, you put a lot of time into the workouts you do. It’s important to take a step back and focus on other aspects of your life as well.

During those weeks off, you will likely feel that you are losing all of your fitness gains, getting fat, losing strength, and worst of all…. losing your marbles because you don’t know what to do with yourself.
