KNEWSLETTER - Vol. 80

Ahoy Marianne!

We hope all you ghouls and goblins out there are having a wonderful October! We trust you had an enjoyable Fleet Week. Not sure if it could have been any more perfect weather-wise until we got a little taste of fall on Sunday. But it was epic as usual!

With Halloween headed down the pike, holiday season is upon us and we'll be doing all that holiday stuff we do. Then the rain will come and we start thinking it would be perfect to get some boat projects done while the weather is bad. We've got a lot of indoor space, but it tends to fill up - be sure to call us sooner rather than later to book your wintertime projects!

COMMERCIAL FISHERMEN OFFER

KKMI announced today they will be offering free haulouts to commercial fishing vessels, giving this hard-hit industry some much needed financial relief after a cancelled salmon season made it quite difficult to eke out a living. This offer is good at both KKMI locations on the San Franciso Bay – Richmond and Sausalito. SAUSALITO BOATSHOW RECAP

Two enthusiastic thumbs up for the Sausalito Boat Show! It was so nice to see so many of you there. The dunk tank was a LOT OF FUN and it allowed us to raise over $500 for the Sausalito Nursery School.

Great job to the team that pulled this together! Thank you for all your hard work. It paid off. We are already looking forward to next year!

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD FOLKS...

SUCCESS STORY OF THE MONTH

We installed a new davit system for Iguana who is headed south. They're having a ball and wanted to share their story. It's so fun following people's adventures. Glad this gang is safe from the hurricane.

CAPTAIN Q'S QUAGMIRES

In lieu of funnies this month, we are holding our collective breath and sending thoughts and prayers to our neighbors to the South. Stay safe and hang on tight!

KNEWSLETTER CHALLENGE

CHALLENGE:

What’s the term for the person who sells (and often delivers) supplies, groceries, and parts to a ship at sea?

(Hint: It's also what we sometimes call the marine supply store in the center of our Richmond yard - that's open on Saturdays).

Simply reply to this email with your answer. No need to change the title. If you have one, include a photo of yourself, preferably on a boat, that we can use in the event you're our big winner! Please tell us a little about what's happening in the photo. You will be added to all entries and the winner will be selected randomly from all entries. Good luck!

The winner will be notified ahead of time and announced in our next Knewsletter.

LAST KNEWSLETTER CHALLENGE & WINNER

QUESTION/ANSWER:

Spot the 10 differences:

Congratulations to this month's winner, Greg Kaplan! Here's Greg aboard his Catalina 34 Tweety Bird

We thought we would share what he had to say about the image - it made us giggle:

He’s looking up at the dock that he is about to sail into, which is why he left the helm. Obviously has no rudder or time to lower the sails. Real question is why is the jib filled forward and the main filled backward? Looks like a push-me/pull me.

Here's a picture of Eva, our winner from last month, sporting her winning shirt! Looking so stylish, Eva!
