Purdue Freedom Schools @ First Church's Finale Event — July 26


You’re invited to a special evening of celebration with the Purdue CDF Freedom Schools @ First United Church scholars!


Join us as we mark a second summer of reading and joy. The evening will feature scholars showcasing their works, inspiring talks from staff and family, and insights into how you can support this impactful program in our community for years to come.

Sing with Us on August 25 to Celebrate Vicennium Weekend

As we celebrate our Vicennium, FUMC Music Ministry would like to invite YOU to join in their All Church Choir to sing a beautiful anthem for our 11:00 AM Celebrate service on Sunday, August 25.


The anthem is called “Evermore” and will use live brass, percussion, organ, and piano accompaniment!

If you like to sing, but are not already in our Chancel Choir, please join us for this special opportunity!


The following times are reserved for rehearsals:

  • Sundays beginning July 28 through August 18 from 12:00-12:45 PM in the music room.
  • A final full rehearsal will be on Wednesday, August 21 at 7:00 PM in the CLC.

Our Faith

Join Us for God and Country Documentary Showing — July 18


Mark your calendar for an engaging event on Thursday, July 18, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM in the First Church CLC. We will be showing the powerful documentary "God and Country," which explores the emergence of Christian Nationalism.

A Place for Everyone – Free Training Course on Monday, August 26


This free, online training hosted by United Methodist Churches of Indiana focuses on how churches can better welcome population groups with unique welcoming needs.


Two sessions will be offered back-to-back on Monday, August 26, with a ten minute break between sessions. You may attend one or both sessions:

  • 7:00 - 7:50 PM (EST) - Welcoming those in the LGBTQIA+
  • 8:00 - 8:50 PM (EST) - Welcoming individuals or families experiencing neurodivergence


The deadline to register is Saturday, August 24, at 11:59 PM (EST).

Why? Making Sense of God's Will: Summer 2024 Adult Education Series


Where is God when the innocent suffer? Where is God when my prayers go unanswered? Why is God's will so hard to understand?


These are questions we will explore together in our new adult education series focused on the wisdom and teachings of Adam Hamilton, one of America's most respected Methodist theologians.

Tippecanoe County United Food Pantry Operated by Church Women United — July Food Items Needed


Canned: tomatoes, veggies, fruit, beans, soup, and pasta sauces.

Boxes of: cereal, macaroni & cheese, pasta, rice and crackers.

Peanut butter.


Place food in labeled baskets in the Narthex (First Church lobby). Storage space is limited so please refrain from donating items not on this list.
