Enjoy an All-Day Mardi Gras Celebration in the Heart of

Culpeper Downtown!

Whether a Jester, King or Queen, all are welcome to spend the day letting the good times roll on Saturday, February 24^th, in historic Culpeper Downtown!  Sponsored by Culpeper Renaissance, Inc. (CRI), along with The Refinery, Allstate agent Kimberly Miller and the Town of Culpeper, enjoy the Culpeper Downtown Carnival, a winter celebration with a Cajun twist like you’ve yet to experience!

With over 40 downtown shops and restaurants participating, you’ll be sure to discover engaging activities, a cornucopia of entertainment to enjoy, bayou inspired food and drinks to savor, plus retail specials and giveaways throughout!  Start your day with a magic show, by nationally recognized magician Wes Iseli, performing two shows, 10:30am and 2pm, at The Refinery.  While out and about, you may run into a Renaissance Character, that will not only delight you with their fashion, but will also entertain you with jokes from yesteryear.  Stop by the Depot/Visitor Center to enjoy a carriage ride, by Harmon’s Carriages and Training from 12pm to 3pm, along with Sandy’s Face Painting from 2:30pm to 5pm.  Plus, get your mug sketched by Caricature Artist, Daniel Ryman, located outside of Grass Rootes Kitchen & Cocktail from 11am to 4pm.  With many of these activities being offered at no cost, there is no reason you’ll want to keep the family inside on a day like this!

Make a purchase at participating businesses and be entered to win one of two Culpeper Downtown Gift Baskets, filled with goodies totaling over $400!  Every purchase made equals an entry!  Explore new shops, while visiting your old favorites, delighting in all things purple, green and gold.  CRI volunteers will be roaming the streets from 11am to 3pm, handing out authentic Mardi Gras beads straight from New Orleans, along with masks and informational flyers, so come on down and enjoy this family friendly event, that has something for everyone!  It’s not the French Quarter, it’s Culpeper Downtown baby, so Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!

Coffee Connection Social Hour

Every other month Culpeper Renaissance, Inc. (CRI) partners with a downtown business to host the CRI Culpeper Downtown Business Coffee Connection Social Hour.

The Coffee Connection Social Hour offers a space for downtown businesses to exchange ideas, collaborate, and support one another. Collaboration inspires businesses to get out of their day-to-day operations, make connections, take advantage of different skillsets, share marketing efforts, and solve problems.

CRI's belief is that a vibrant downtown creates smart, healthy towns. A strong core helps the entire community thrive, and having a strong contingent of businesses in our downtown district is a key part of keeping Culpeper healthy and vibrant.

It’s time to prepare your taste buds & appetites for Culpeper Downtown’s Spring Restaurant Week, the best way to try something new or enjoy an old favorite—while supporting our downtown restaurant community!

Break out of the typical work-week patterns and share a meal with family and friends. With specially priced menus — Lunch/Brunch Menu Options $15 or $25 and Dinner Menu Options $35 or $50 — it’s a great excuse to revisit old favorites or visit an establishment you’ve always wanted to try.
