The Landform Quarterly
Dodge Nature Center
Landform partnered with Dodge Nature Center to design and construct stormwater, driveway and parking lot improvements on the Historic Shepard Farm in Cottage Grove. The 100-plus-acre farm was constructed in the early 1900's and was used up until the last descendants passing in the 1990's. The Shepard family was very prominent in St. Paul history, so much so that Shepard Road in St. Paul is named after them. It was always the family's intention to preserve the site from development and the farm was donated to Dodge Nature Center of West St. Paul. This continued the tradition of preserving nature and providing teaching and learning experiences for families and school children. The Farm is currently undergoing restoration efforts to restore it to it's original early 1900's timeframe. The additional driveway, which will serve as a roadway through the site, and parking lot will be used to accommodate buses and cars for families and school children attending field trips. Construction of parking and drive areas has begun and is estimated to be completed in July.
Riverbend North
Our team has been hard at work on a new development! Riverbend is a 13-acre, mixed use development in Otsego.

This project will take place in stages and will eventually include a 164-unit apartment building, 45,000-square-foot self-storage buildings and space for future commercial uses.

Construction began in late March. So far, the site has been rough graded and the buildings' foundation walls are in. Due to the wet spring, there have been timing setbacks, however, the building will continue to go vertical this summer!

Sandra's Garden
Landform has had a long-standing working relationship with Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital, dating back to the early 2000s. With the addition of the Frauenshuh Cancer Center in St. Louis Park, Landform designed a contemplative garden for patients, staff and visitors. The garden has been a great addition enjoyed by many people over the years and has matured and evolved over time. Annually, Landform walks the garden with the head of facilities management to discuss maintenance and enhancements. The garden is very important to the cancer center and there is a large maintenance budget to ensure it looks outstanding year-round. Maintenance and enhancements are critical to any garden, especially one of this magnitude, because they are living, changing things. This year, a new sculpture has been donated and a dedication ceremony will be held at the end of June. Landform was asked to help site the sculpture and provide planting design to enhance it. By providing a providing a photo-realistic image of the mature plantings, the design is a wild success!

We would also like to recognize our Landscape Architect, Josh Popehn, RLA, who took lead on this project. He did an incredible job and we are excited for patients and staff to enjoy the sculpture garden!
